Abstract:
In the case of a spark gap element for a screened arrangement, in order to ensure that the ignition voltage is independent from the screening, according to the invention an annular control electrode (7) is arranged at or on the outer sleeve surface of the insulator (2) at the height of the active surface (5) of the live electrode (3), which control electrode is electrically connected to the live electrode (3). The control electrode consists either of a metal coating or of a ribbon-shaped strip or of a metal cap.
