Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility of disrupting the stacked form of cargoes due to ship rocking, shorten stevedoring time and obviate the need for the space required for hardware mounting operations by a method wherein the base hardware for use in the stacking of containers is given a cross section of an isosceles triangle having a vertical angle of 90 deg. and the containers having a cross section of a regular tetragon are stacked in a diamond pattern. CONSTITUTION:A base hardware 3 for use in the stacking of containers has a cross section of an isosceles triangle having a vertical angle of 90 deg. and a base angle of 45 deg. and a container securing hardware 4 also has a cross section of a right-angled triangle. The length of the side of the base hardware 3 between the vertical angle and the base angle is the same as the width of a container 2 and the container securing hardwares 4 are arranged at such a vertical interval as to conform to the width of the container 2 to fully withstand the load exerted by the containers 2 when they are stacked in a diamond pattern. Specifically, a plurality of the containers 2 are loaded in a container ship 1 in such a manner that they are stacked closely and firmly sloping at an angle of 90 deg. from the lowermost to the uppermost tier.
