Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily revise a sound pressure-frequency characteristic of the acoustic equipment over a wide range by making up of the equipment with a package containing an electric viscous fluid, an electrode from which an electric field is applied to an electric viscous fluid and a power supply used to apply a voltage to the electrode and making the package in contact with a sounding section of the acoustic equipment. CONSTITUTION:For example, when the equipment is applied to a speaker, a cone ridge is fitted to an opening circumferential ridge of a speaker box 2 via a package 3 containing an electric viscous fluid 5 being an acoustic characteristic variable member. A known fluid is adopted for the electric viscous fluid 5. A sound pressure- frequency characteristic has a resonance point with respect to an input of a prescribed sound pressure level when no voltage is applied to a couple of electrodes 4. This is applied to a similar tendency characteristic when no package 3 is in existence. On the other hand, when a prescribed voltage is applied to a couple of the electrodes 4, the resonance point in the sound pressure-frequency characteristic is moved and its peak is smoothed. Conversely, it is also possible to an acoustic characteristic in which the sound pressure is emphasized at an optional frequency band.
