Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the emulsion excellent in storage stability and useful for coating, adhesive, etc., by feeding a dispersant obtained by emulsifying and dispersing a solution consisting of a specific monomer, etc., and an initiator into a specific aqueous medium and polymerizing the monomer. CONSTITUTION:(A) A solution consisting of a radically polymerizable monomer having a hydrolyzable silyl group such as vinylmethyldimethoxysilane, a monomer copolymerizable with the monomer and a lipophilic radical monomer such as 2,2'-azobisisobutylonitoryl is emulsified and dispersed into an aqueous medium containing a surfactant having 1.5-20 HLB and a pH buffer and the resultant aqueous emulsified and dispersed material is continuously or intermittently fed into an aqueous medium under stirring and these monomers are polymerized to provide the objective emulsion.
