Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate discrimination of core fiber by making only one direction of two kinds of transmitted light incident on a light receiving part by slide switching operation of a shutter plate, and by optically discriminating both end core fibers based on the difference in the quantity of light incident in the light receiving part. CONSTITUTION:After an adapter 5 into which a ferrule 7 is inserted is set to a holder 3, a shutter plate 4 is pushed and moved to the left side. Since a square hole 4A is also transferred to the left at the time, progression of the transmitted light emitted from a number eight core fiber is blocked by means of the shutter 4, and noise due to reflection at this point is not generated, in particular, because of a reflection preventing film 4D. The transmitted light emitted from the number eight core fiber is not incident on a light receiving part 2, while the emitted light from a number one core fiber is surely detected by the light receiving part 2, and the number one core fiber can thus be recognized correctly.
