Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the optical material having an excellent nonlinear optical effect and transparency by forming the material of a polysilane compd. expressed by specific formula. CONSTITUTION:This nonlinear optical material or transparent optical material consists of the polysilane compd. expressed by the formula I. In the formula I, R and R<2> respectively independently denote a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group or aralkyl group. Y denotes a satd. hydrocarbon group; m and n respectively independently denote >=1 number. Y may be an alkylene group. The alkyl groups expressed by R and R<2> of the formula I are exemplified by ordinary 1 to 6C alkyl groups and the alkyl groups may be straight chain or branched groups. The aryl group is exemplified by a univalent aryl group having at least one arom. ring and the arom. ring may have a substituents. The aralkyl group is exemplified by a univalent aralkyl group in which at least one arom. rings are substd. with the aliphat. hydrocarbon.
