Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a double wall fuel storage vessel of which vessel integrity can be confirmed and of which heat coductivity is well, in an outer cooling type fuel storage vessels. CONSTITUTION:A double wall fuel storage vessel 11 has a highly heat conductive porous metal or a wire mesh 18 between an inner vessel 16 in contact to sodium, and an outer vessel 17 in contact to air. In an occasion of cooling down the fuel storage vessel from an outside thereof, which stores spent fuels taken out of a nuclear reactor by a fuel exchanger and the like, until the vessel is transported to outside the nuclear facility, heat conductivity of the vessel is highly improved and heat generated by decay heat of the spent fuel is efficiently discharged to air and consequently cooling performace is much improved.
