Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent irregular settlement of embankment when box culvert is stepwise banded at back filling. SOLUTION: A buffering material 10 is arranged on a box culvert 20 and the box culvert 20 is back filled. A buffering material 10 is formed such that three deformation layers brought into a dense state after plastic deformation are vertically laminated. Deformation layers 11-13 are formed of foamed polystyrene block differing in a unit volume weight with the respective deformation layers. The lowermost first deformation layer 11 has a stress range corresponding to a plastic deformation region being decreased to a minimum and a stress range corresponding to the plastic deformation region of the topmost third deformation layer 13 is increased to a maximum. When the box culvert 20 is back filled, after embankment is effected such that the first deformation layer 11 is plastically deformed, embankment is effected such that the second deformation layer 12 is plastically deformed. Thereafter, embankment is performed such that the third deformation layer 13 is plastically deformed.
