Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for estimating capacity of a lithium ion battery, a simple method and a device for judging the degradation of the lithium ion battery, and a lithium ion battery pack having a means for warning the degradation of the battery when necessary by estimating the capacity of the battery. SOLUTION: The capacity estimating method of lithium ion battery is characterized by calculating estimative capacity of the lithium ion battery by using time t by determining the time t up to time when a charging current becomes αtimes (here, α is a positive value constant smaller than 1) of a charging current Ic at that time from when switching a charging condition to constant voltage CV from a constant current CC when charging the lithium ion battery by a constant current-constant voltage method, and the method and device for judging the degradation of lithium ion battery by the method and the lithium ion battery pack having a means for performing the capacity estimating method, are also provided.
