Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an IC socket which provides measures to nonconformity regarding the closing of the cover of the IC socket and to the heating of an IC, relating to the IC socket on which an IC is mounted with an IC lead pressed into contact with the contact of a socket main body for the purpose of checking defective ICs. CONSTITUTION:This IC socket has a socket main body into which a contact is fitted, a cover provided on the socket main body in such a manner as to be freely opened and closed via an opening means, a holding plate 6a supported against the cover in such a way as to move freely, and a lock means for keeping the socket main body and the cover locked. With an IC placed on the socket main body, the cover is locked by the lock means, and the lead of the IC and the head of the contact are pressed into contact with each other by means of the holding plate 6a to inspect the IC. Runouts 17 are provided in the lower surface of the holding plate 6a.
