Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily judge the presence/absence of processing error generated in an area dividing process and to easily correct the processing error when that processing error is present by dividing an original image into plural areas and discriminating whether the divided result is proper or not based on format information. SOLUTION: A CPU 105 executes the control of an entire device and the recognizing process of area division, etc. A ROM 106 stores a control program to be executed by the CPU 105, various kinds of processing programs and various kinds of data such as font data. A RAM 107 is used as a work area or the like for the extension or area dividing process of the original image. Thus, it is discriminated based on the format information of the original image having a prescribed format whether the divided result is proper or not. Besides, a correcting means is further provided for correcting negative factors in the divided result when the divided result is not proper. Therefore, the presence/ absence of processing error generated in the area dividing process can be easily judged and when there is any processing error, that processing error can be easily corrected.
