Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing skull on a sub-lance with which even the skull firmly stuck on the side surface of the sub-lance can smoothly be removed. SOLUTION: Dividing type plural scraper pieces 11 are arranged for removing the skull stuck on the side surface from the sub-lance 1 descended toward molten metal and ascended. These scraper pieces 11 are the pieces, with which when the sub-lance 1 is ascended, the side surface of the sub-lance 1 is surrounded in the changeable state in position to the side part (the surrounding of the sub-lance 1) at the fixed height, based on the elastic force to drop down the skull from the side surface of the sub-lance 1.
