Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cell performance by increasing the porosity. SOLUTION: A porous body electrode 4 is prepared by grinding intermetallic compound 1 which has Al group composition to provide fine powder of 0.3-4μm, average grain size 1.4μm and adding this powder to Ni powder 2 as reinforcement and mixing them to provide slurry 3 and molding this slurry 3 in tape shape and then baking it at high temperature of 1000-1200 deg.C and this electrode 4 is oxidized in or out of a cell to oxidize Ni porous body and additive element. Then, only Ni is reduced by letting H flow to complete an electrode 5 in condition that oxide is dispersed in the Ni porous body. In operation of the cell, the electrode 5 is an electrode in which the oxide is dispersed and reinforced.
