Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress self-discharging and improve a storage characteristic by having it contain a compound containing a hexafluoropropyl group in a nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: A compound with a formula (CF3 )2 CHOR is used. In the formula, R is an alkyl group or an aryl group. When R is an alkyl group, -CH3 or -CH2 CH3 is preferable, and when R is an aryl group, -C6 H4 CH3 is preferable. Hexafluoroisopropyl methylether, ethylhexafluoroisopropyl ether, p- torylhexafluoroisopropyl ether and the like are the examples. It is preferable that 0.01-20.0 wt.% of the compound expressed by the formula should be contained with respect to a nonaqueous electrolyte and the negative electrode of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery is to be made of lithium metal. Ethylene carbonate, sulfolane, tetrahydrofuran or the like is used for a solvent constituting the nonaqueous electrolyte, and LiPF6, LiBF4 or the like is used for its solute. The compound expressed by the formula forms a uniform coating on the surface of the electrode and suppresses the reaction of lithium with the electrolyte.
