Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a micropore silica gel suitable to an adsorbent for a heat pump. CONSTITUTION: Silica hydrogel is washed by using a washing water containing 10-1000ppm aluminum ion and having pH 1-4, then the gel is dried to obtain silica xerogel. The aluminum ion present in a hydrated water in the silica hydrogel is bonded to a surface silanol group of silica particles to decrease a solubility of the silica particles and suppresses a growth of the silica particles due to a hydrothermal polymerization at the time of drying, so the silica particles become to a near state to a close packed state and a fine pore diameter and a fine pore volume become small.
