Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator for display which can be made thin and small-sized. SOLUTION: A display unit 20 is provided with a light transmission plate on the rear side of a display panel 21. A lamp holder unit 30 holds a cold cathode-ray fluorescent lamp in a position facing the upper end face of the light transmission plate. An L-shaped engaging projection 24 projects from the rear face of a panel case 23 of the display unit 20. Guide walls 18 with which the engaging projection 24 is freely slidably engaged are projectingly provided on inside faces of both side walls of an illuminator main body 10 which has the front opened, and the display unit 20 can be freely slidably attached. The engaging projection 24 and guide walls 18 constitute an attaching means which freely slidably attaches the display unit 20 to the illuminator main body 10 along the front face of the illuminator main body 10.
