Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably control a copy operation history of a copyright protection, etc., by protecting the storage area of copy control information set in a memory as necessary and sufficient. SOLUTION: When high speed recording operation is instructed/operated by an operation part 8, copyright information is read out from a CD by a read- out part 2, and the copyright information is fetched to a CPU 3. The CPU 3 discriminates the number of pieces of copyright information stored beforehand in a memory 4, decides propriety of a storage of the copyright information into the memory 4, and further discriminates the propriety of the high speed recording to control a write-in part 5 and a display part 7. The CPU 3 discriminates whether the amount of copyright information stored in the memory 4 has reached the allowable limit when the high speed recording operation is instructed and the CPU 3 stores the copyright information. When the amount of copyright information in the memory 4 reaches the allowable limit, the CPU 3 does not allow the memory 4 to store it and makes a display part 7 to show this situation. When the copyright information cannot be stored, the high speed recording operation is prohibited.
