Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an optimum driving force characteristic travelling in response to the relation between a residual fuel amount and a distance to fuel supply facilities so that a driver may not mind the driving specially. SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises vehicle absolute position calculation means 4 for calculating an absolute position of a user's own vehicle; fuel supply facilities information storing means 5 for previously storing the information of fuel supply facilities in relation with the absolute position; distance calculation means 6 to fuel supply facilities for calculating a distance to the fuel supply facilities nearest to the present position based on the detected vehicle absolute position and the fuel supply facilities information; residual fuel calculation means 3 for calculating a residual fuel in a fuel tank mounted on the vehicle; and driving force characteristic changing means 1 for changing driving force characteristics of the vehicle in response to the relation between the calculated residual fuel amount and the distance to the fuel supply facilities.
