Abstract:
The soft component in a polyacetal/thermoplastic styrene elastomer composite consists of hydrogenated styrene block copolymer(s) based on polyisoprene/butadiene and/or polyisoprene and/or polybutadiene rubber, adhesively modified with styrene/butadiene and/or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene. A compound (I) for a composite body comprising a hard component (a) of polyacetal, i.e. polyoxymethylene (POM), and (b) a soft component moulded directly onto (a), consisting of thermoplastic styrene elastomer(s) (TPE), i.e. hydrogenated styrene block copolymer(s) based on poly-isoprene/butadiene (SEEPS) and/or polyisoprene (SEPS) and/or polybutadiene (SEBS) rubber, adhesively modified with styrene/butadiene (SBS) and/or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer or olefin polymers such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) or polystyrene (PS). Independent claims are also included for (1) composites based on (I); (2) a method for the production of such composites by multi-component injection moulding in one stage, especially by using the rotary-, index plate-, sliding-, turnover- or co-injection-sandwich technique, or in multi-stage form by an insert process, or by a multi-component extrusion process, especially coextrusion.
