To provide a chemical conversion method of a secondary battery equipped with a nickel electrode having a micro-porous separator.
The secondary battery is structured by combining (1) a positive electrode made by applying paste containing nickel hydroxide and a conductive agent to a support body having a two-dimensional structure, (2) a micro-porous separator of a thickness of 1 to 60 μm, and (3) a negative electrode made by applying paste to a support body having a two-dimensional structure. After sealing, the chemical conversion method of the secondary battery is carried out by conducting loose discharge with an extremely small current, after conducting charging with a discharging amount equivalent to that shown after complete charging.
