Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the deterioration of the quality of an image obtained by image pickup even when exposure by the irradiation of a flashing device is insufficient because flashing time exceeds exposure time in the case of flash photographing by the electronic camera. SOLUTION: A camera CPU 20 incorporated in a DSC (electronic camera) 100 obtains the exposure time based on an image signal inputted from a CCD 4 through a control circuit 6. The CPU 20 performs preliminary photographing with the light emission of the flashing device 200, and obtains the emitted light quantity of the device 200 in the case of regular photographing based on the result, and then obtains the flashing time based on the emitted light quantity. When the flashing time is longer than the exposure time, the CPU 20 obtains underexposure amount caused by completing the exposure before completing illumination by the device 20. An image processing circuit 8 performs color correction by tinging the underexposure amount previously calculated in the case of processing image data obtained by the image pickup.
