To provide an electronic program guide which displays an arbitrary figure capable of specifying an apparatus which has been video-recording-reserved out of two or more video recording apparatuses, and can also display the state of the video-recording reserved apparatus.

As an icon for video recording apparatuses to be displayed as a figure capable of specifying each external video recording apparatus i20_ito be used for video recording of a video-recording reserved program, in a program column of the electronic program guide displayed in the screen of a monitor device 10, when two or more external video recording apparatuses 20 conforming IEEE 1394 standards are connected, not only a fixed unique figure but figures registered in video recording apparatus information 5c by a user beforehand arbitrarily are used. Moreover, information representing the present states of the apparatuses i20_i(including power on/off, whether or not a record medium is loaded), and information representing the position of recording of the loaded record medium, are also displayed as the video recording apparatus icons. In a column for a first video recording program by the apparatuses i20_i, the position of the present video recording is displayed. In columns for the next video recording program and after, the integrated values of each used amount used for each video recording up to last recording and the starting position of the present video recording are displayed.
