Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the precision of automatic steering control, in a device which controls the driving of a steering actuator, by changing the operating timing of a control supporting means according to the detected results of a traveling environment detection means. SOLUTION: When a mode selection switch S6 is operated, a rearward parking/left mode is selected, and an automatic parking start switch S7 is turned on, a control part 22 computes a deviation based on the reference turning angle of the rearward parking/left mode and a turning angle inputted from a turning angle detection means S1, controls the operation of a steering actuator 7 so that the deviation may be zero, and moves a vehicle V on a traveling locus. The traveling distance X of the vehicle V is detected based on the rotational angle of a front wheel Wf detected by a front wheel rotational angle detection means S3. A positional relation between an object such as a garage and a self vehicle is detected based on the output of an object detection means S8, a braking supporting means is operated from the detected results, and teaching is given to a driver so as to depress a brake pedal.
