In one state of implementation, the method for obtaining three- dimensional information provided here comprises an imaging means for taking an image of an object, a relatively moving means for relatively and continuously moving the object and the imaging means so that the image of the object can be taken from a plurality of visual points by the imaging means, a relative position detecting means for detecting the relative positions of the object and the imaging means from each visual point where the image of the object is taken, and a three-dimensional shape estimating means for estimating the three- dimensional shape of the object by using information on the image of the object taken from the plurality of visual points and the relative positions detected by the relative position detecting means.
