Abstract:

To provide an optical recording medium having a structure which can achieve high recording density by preventing cross writing, cross erasure, and crosstalk to reduce the track pitch, a recording/reproducing method, and a manufacturing method therefor.

In the optical recording medium, at least a heat generation layer for generating heat by the irradiation with light, a structure, and a recording material in which information is recorded by the generation of heat by the irradiation with light are stacked on a substrate, wherein the structure consists of a mixture of materials of a silicon compound (material A) and at least one material (material B) selected from the group consisting of a sulfide material, a selenide material, a fluoride material, a nitrite material, a metal material, and a semiconductor material, and wherein the structure is provided in the state in which it is perfectly separated from the adjacent structure in the surface of the medium.
