To provide a photosensitive-type solar cell capable of efficiently extracting a power and capable of increasing an area, and to provide a manufacturing method for the solar cell.
The photosensitive-type solar cell has a transparent substrate, a current-collecting wiring layer formed on the substrate, a transparent insulator layer covering regions other than the wiring layer, and a transparent electrode layer formed on the wiring layer and the insulator layer. The solar cell further has a semiconductor layer formed on the electrode layer, a semiconductor electrode which is formed on the semiconductor layer and in which a pigment is carried on a surface, and counter substrates which are separated and facing, and arranged with respect to the semiconductor electrode and having conductive layers on surfaces. The solar cell further has an electrolyte layer, formed between the semiconductor electrode and the conductive layer and having iodine molecules and an electrolyte containing iodide. The solar cell is constituted so that the maximum thickness of the current-collecting wiring layer is made approximately the same as or larger than that of the transparent insulator layer.
