To provide a plasticator capable of efficiently plasticating a molding material having high viscosity and low flowability, reduced in volumetric change at the time of melting, hard to plasticate and suitable for a fuel cell separator while shortening a metering time without increasing plasticating torque.
This plasticator 100 is constituted so as to plasticate the molding material for the fuel cell separator containing a conductive material and a resin binder material and has a screw 30 having flights formed thereto at a constant pitch as a whole and a barrel 1 having a heating means 9 provided to the outer periphery thereof and housing a screw 30. The plasticator 100 has a compression part and a metering part formed thereto from the rear end of the screw 30 to the front end thereof so that the groove depth of the compression part changes smoothly while the groove depth of the metering part is constant and the ratio of the groove depth of the rearmost end of the compression part and the groove depth of the metering part is 1.4-2.0.
