Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the recognition accuracy of a target in a scanning radar apparatus. SOLUTION: Radio waves of an FM-CW system at a milliwave band are transmitted toward a target 22 from a transmitting antenna. The existence of reflected waves from the target 22 is received by a receiving antenna 24. A target detection circuit 26 detects the target 22, and, in addition, it calculates a distance R and a relative speed V up to the target 22. An intensity judgment circuit 29 groups the detection result of the target detection circuit 26 on the basis of the distance and thr relative speed. When the detection result is within a range of a reference width which is set in a width setting circuit 28, the detection result is judged by the same target 22 even when a plurality of peaks are obtained. As the reference width, a traffic lane width is set when a vehicle which is being run on a road is used as the target 22.
