Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery which combines both outstanding cycle characteristic and outstanding rate characteristic. SOLUTION: It is a non-aqueous electrolyte battery using a carbon micro coil to at least either of a positive electrode or a negative electrode. The carbon micro coil of 3D-helical/spiral structure can be obtained by the catalyst activating heat decomposition of acetylene, which contains very small quantity of sulfur impurities. Although this carbon micro coil is almost amorphous and the graphitization advances by heat treatment, the graphitization degree is low, and it is considered to be a graphitization difficult carbon material. This carbon micro coil is 1 to 10 μm in diameter and 100 to 1000 μm long.
