Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve thermal insulation, durability and earthquake-proofness for an inner tank support structure by a method wherein a fabricated support member is installed at the bottom at the inside of an outer tank, and bottom parts of the outer and inner tanks are supported with the fabricated support member. SOLUTION: A fabricated support member 10 is installed at the inner bottom part of an outer tank 2. The fabricated support member 10 is made up of thermal insulating reinforced members in order to insulate conduction of the cold from liquid stored in an inner tank 4 and to insulate conduction of intense heat from the outside while bearing the weight of the inner tank 4 and the weight of the stored liquid with the bottom of the inner tank 4 being supported. The fabricated support member 10 is also made up in a three-dimensional framelike structure having wide spaces allowing heat insulating materials to pass through so that uniform formation of a heat-insulating layer 3 formed by filling heat-insulating materials is not obstructed. The fabricated support member 10 formed of the heat insulating materials does not conduct the cold of low-temperature storage liquid from the inner tank 4 and also does not conduct high temperature of the outside air from the outer tank 2 and because of this, thermal conductance between the inner and the outer tanks becomes small and thereby short-pass of heat is prevented.
