To provide a head lamp device for a motorcycle with a small and inexpensive composition and capable of quickly/accurately positioning a head lamp to its rotational home position.
The device comprises an emitter 22 for illuminating the front of a car body, a luminous intensity distribution adjusting mechanism 16 for changing an illumination range A of the emitter 22, and a luminous intensity distribution control means 20 for controlling the luminous intensity distribution adjusting mechanism 16 and adjusting the illumination range A. the luminous intensity distribution adjusting mechanism 16 has a driving machine 18 for carrying out rotation, a body 35 to be detected, and a sensor 29 for detecting the body 35 to be detected at the rotational home position.
