To provide a simple tool capable of attaching an instrument or device such as a transmitter to a fish body without injuring it and so as not to come off, and to provide a method for easily and surely attaching such an instrument or device.
The tool for attaching a transmitter or the like to a fish body has the following construction: A rope is folded double, both of the folded ropes are penetrated through the hole of a press plate, and a harpoon point is turnably attached to the fold-back part of the rope. One side of the folded ropes is fixed on a self-locking implement, the other side being threaded through the self-locking instrument so as not to reverse the rope, and an attaching element connectable to a transmitter or the like is attached to the tip of the other side of the ropes. It is preferable to use this tool by fixing the whole rope with the harpoon point at the forefront on an attaching rod with a simple fixture such as rubber band along the outer side of the rod. This tool is attached to a fish body in such a way that the harpoon point is pierced into the dorsal fin of the fish body to penetrate the rope through the dorsal fin followed by pulling the rope to nip the dorsal fin with the harpoon point and the press plate.
