To prevent degradation of cycle characteristics of an alkaline storage battery by using hydrogen storage alloy powder of a small particle size for a hydrogen storage alloy electrode for improvement of discharge characteristics of the alkaline storage battery and by enabling an electrode core body to fully retain the hydrogen storage alloy powder even in case a conductive agent is added.
For the hydrogen storage alloy electrode 2 made by hydrogen storage alloy powder adhered to an electrode core body with a binding agent containing at least polyvinyl pyrrolidone, the hydrogen storage alloy electrode is made to contain molybdic acid and phosphate, and the hydrogen storage alloy electrode is used for a negative electrode of the alkaline storage battery.
