To provide a device and method for efficiently constructing and executing access restriction configurations based on a password.
Objects being the configuring elements of a contents directory are respectively set with an element password, and the whole contents directory is set with a database password. A server executes password authentication processing based on the collation of a received password from a client and a storage password, and decides a processing permission area from the directory based on the establishing circumstances of the password authentication, and executes the requested processing of the client when the processing requested by the client is executable in the decided processing permission area. Thus, access authorities based on the directory configuration is set without need to set the access authority of each of the contents, and to the efficient construction of access restriction processing configurations and contents management are realized.
