To provide an image pickup device with which a photographer can convey easily his/her intention to a person to be photographed, and thereby prevent undesired photographing due to poor communication between the photographer and the person to be photographed.
An inner display 12 operatable as a finder display is provided on a front face of a cellular phone 1, while an imaging surface of a camera module 11 and an outer display 13 are provided on its back face. When the photographer takes a picture of the person to be photographed, a processor 6 displays an image to be photographed by the camera module 11 in the inner display 12, and displays the same image or an image preset by the photographer in the outer display 13. With this, the outer display 13 shows an intended photographing range or the image complying with the intention of the photographer to the person to be photographed so that the photographer can urge the person to be photographed to enter the photographing range or to take a certain posture or smile for the camera.
