To provide a die cushion device in which the sudden rise of a cushion pad caused by the inflow of compressed air at a stretch into a cushion cylinder from an air tank is prevented when elevating the cushion pad after die changing or the like.
When elevating the cushion pad 26 by supplying the compressed air to the cushion cylinder 32, the cushion pad is calmly elevated by supplying the compressed air to the cushion cylinder while evading the damage of the press and blank holding die due to the sudden rise of the cushion pad because the compressed air is supplied from a bypass passage 62 to the cushion cylinder and also the feed rate ( speed of supply ) of the compressed air is adjusted with a flow rate regulating valve 66 so that the cushion pad is elevated at a prescribed speed when an electromagnetic stop valve 64 is switched on a supply condition in the state where a communication passage closing device 70 is closed.
