Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the resolution of the enlarged image of digital image data. SOLUTION: An image selector 11 discriminates the kind of inputted image data and when these data are photograph data, they are outputted to a horizontal enlarging processing part 12. The horizontal enlarging processing part 12 provides a blank in the horizontal direction of the inputted image data, horizontally enlarges the image data and outputs them to a vertical enlarging processing part 13 by interpolating, generating and inserting pixels in that blank while utilizing known pixels. The vertical enlarging processing part 13 provides a blank in the vertical direction of the inputted image data, vertically enlarges the image data and outputs them to a 2D edge emphasizing part 14 by interpolating, generating and inserting pixels in that blank while utilizing known pixels. The 2D edge emphasizing part 14 filters the edge part of the inputted image data and outputs edge emphasized image data to a display part 2. The display part 2 displays the enlarged image data.
