Abstract:

The lamp drive circuit has a control circuit (s2) which receives a trigger signal (TR) and has outputs (U T1,U T2) connected to the gates of two MOSFET's (T1,T2). The power supply voltage (U V) is connected to earth via the transformer primary (W1) and the first transistor in series. The transformer secondary (W2) is connected across the terminals of a diode (D5). A third transformer winding (W3) supplies the gas discharge lamp with a series of high- voltage spikes (U L).
