To provide a technique capable of restoring early an detection element of which the detection sensitivity for detected gas is deteriorated, and capable of carrying out an inspection operation for the detected gas continuously with no interruption.
This gas detector has the detection element 51 for detecting the detected gas, a temperature elevation current generating circuit 67 for temperature-elevating the detection element 51 up to a temperature of pyrolyzing a substance deposited on a surface thereof, and a relay switching circuit 70 for switching the detection element 51 from a detection process for executing the detection of the detected gas to a temperature elevation process by a temperature elevation means, based on a prescribed condition.
