To provide a camera system in which control is conducted corresponding to the amount of operation of a focus operating section during an automatic focus mode and setting/changing of the relationship of the amount of driving of a focus lens group is performed at the camera side.
In the camera system, automatic focus control is conducted by the camera side and manual focus control is conducted by a lens side. When a manual operation is conducted during an automatic focus mode, an automatic focus control signal generating means of the camera side computes automatic focus driving signals using the displacement signals that correspond to the amount of operation of a manual focus operating section outputted from a displacement signal outputting means of the lens side. During the automatic focus mode, a focus lens is always driven and controlled by the driving signals from the automatic focus control signal generating means of the camera side.
