To provide a latch device which allows a locking state to be released even when putting a fingertip into a grip portion from either upward or downward direction and prevents operational defects even when damages or the like are caused in an operation lever, and to provide furniture equipped with the same.

The latch device is formed of a lever part and a latch member interlocked with the lever part. The lever part is provided with an upper lever main body and a lower lever main body which rotate around a shaft center and a main link member which is swingable and connects the upper lever main body with the lower lever main body. A latch piece is protruded from a rotating shaft part to a rear direction and an arm part is protruded from the rotating shaft part to a lateral direction in the latch member, and the latch member is integrally formed with an abutting body which abuts on the main link member and spring pieces at a top end of the arm part. The latch member is rotated around an axial line of the rotating shaft part by interlocking with rotation of the upper lever main body or the lower lever main body.
