Abstract:

To provide a lithium secondary battery which keeps a high energy density and has a high reliability in high temperature operation, even if positive pole active materials are used that are charged and discharged at a voltage of 4.5 V or more.

The positive pole active material for the lithium secondary battery consisting of a complex oxide having a spinel structure which is expressed by a formula Lia[MmMn2-m-zZzXx]O4is used (in the formula, M expresses at least one transition metal selected from Ni, Cr, Fe, Co, and Cu, Z expresses at least one metal selected from Sr, Y, Zr, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ba, Hf, Ta, and W, and X expresses at least one element selected from Li, B, Na, Al, Mg, Si, and Ti, wherein 0≤a≤1, 0.4COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
