An MFP is provided with an image read section 15 for reading the original and acquiring image data; a handwriting part extract section 151 for extracting a handwriting part, including a handwritten character from obtained image data; an operation display section for selecting a handwriting part that is a processing object among a plurality of extracted handwriting parts, when the handwriting part extract section 151 extracts the handwriting parts; a handwriting part erasing section 153 for processing the selected handwriting part; a balloon image compositing section 154; a cross-referencing section 154; a handwriting part composition section 157; and an image processing means.
