To minimize the transmission waiting time of a response signal and hence to reduce the entire processing time of a control signal by immediately transmitting the response signal output from a device being a control object without waiting for transmission of a main signal to be completed.
In the communication device, when the control signal from a protocol processor is received by a physical condition conversion part 114, a separator 115 separates the control signal from a data packet, an address decoder 116 specifies the device controlled by the control signal, and a bus master part 117 controls the device being the control object based on the control signal. By responding to it, the response signal is returned from the device being the control object to the bus master part 117. Meanwhile, a table management part 119 acquires a predicted response time in the device being the control object from a response time prediction table 118. An FIFO control part 112 switches output sequences of the data packet of an FIFO part 111 when the predicted response time has passed so that the data packet is not output from the FIFO part 111. A multiplexing part 113 multiplexes the data packet from the FIFO part 111 with the response signal from the bus mater part 117 to transmit it.
