To provide a pneumatic safety tire which is lightweight compared to the conventional side reinforcing type safety tire, and where heat generation of the side reinforcing rubber layer is small and run-flat traveling performance is largely improved while maintaining normal traveling performance (rolling resistance, and drivability or the like) in filling internal pressure at high level.
The pneumatic safety tire is equipped with a pair of side reinforcing rubber layers 6 having crescent shaped cross section disposed inside of a carcass 4 of a side wall part 2. The rubber composition compounded with polyketone short fibers satisfying the following formulas with respect to a rubber component is used for the side reinforcing rubber layer 6. σ≥-0.01×E+1.2 and σ≥0.02 [wherein σ is a thermal contraction stress (cN/dtex) at 177°C, and E is an elasticity modulus (cN/dtex) in loading of 49N at 25°C].
