To realize a moving image playback unit and a program therefor, capable of playing back easy-to-hear voice, even during a slow playback of moving image data with simplified voice.

When a set playback speed of a moving image is decided to be lower than a predetermined speed (Y in S2), the voice of the moving image data with voice is recognized (S3), and based on the above recognition, the voice data concerned is divided into a plurality of sections (S4). Then, the playback of the moving image data of the above moving image data with voice is started at the set playback speed (S5) and the above voice data divided into the plurality of sections are played back at a normal speed synchronously with the moving image data being played back (S6-S10). Also, when the set playback speed is faster than the predetermined speed (N in S2), the playback operation of the moving image data and the voice data of the moving image data with voice is started at the above set playback speed (S11).
