After the reels 31 stop, specific symbol detection means 64 checks the reels 31 in a display window for a specific symbol. Based on the selected performance pattern, a first performance means 65 illuminates the specific symbol detected by the specific symbol detection means 64 by the use of back lamps 33 while turning off all the other symbols other than the specific symbol. A specific symbol turning-off number determination means 67 determines the number of specific symbols to be turned off after the illumination based on the performance pattern and a turning-off number determination data table 66 or others. A second performance means 68 turns off prescribed specific symbols among the specific symbols after the illumination on the basis of determination made by the specific symbol turning-off number determination means 67.
