Abstract:
To provide a waste treatment method which enables lead chromate waste to be recycled by separating chromium and lead without landfill disposal of the lead chromate, and to provide a recyclable lead compound.
In the waste treatment method, the lead chromate waste is heated in an acidic aqueous solution, and chromium is converted to water-soluble chromic acid and lead is converted to a sparingly soluble lead compound to subject them to solid-liquid separation. The lead compound has a chromium content of ≤1 wt.%.
