To provide a method of manufacturing a hollow member by which a raw material sheet in a molten state is brought into contact with the outer circumferential surface of a molding roller on which a number of suction holes are disposed, thereby protrusion parts swollen-out in a hollow state are molded by vacuum molding, thereafter a seal material is laminated on the opening side of the molded protrusion parts, consequently the hollow member having a number of independent air bubble chambers is manufactured, in this case, the distribution of thicknesses of the protrusion parts to be molded is easily adjusted such that the thicknesses of the protrusion parts to be molded become substantially uniform along the circumferential direction, to provide a hollow member which can be suitably manufactured by using such a method and to provide equipment for manufacturing such a hollow member.
The raw material sheet 2 is molded by using resin material including at least two resin components having melting point different from each other and, before the raw material sheet 2 is fed to the molding roller 40 and the protrusion parts 2a are molded by vacuum molding, the temperature of the raw material sheet 2 is adjusted so as to be lower than the melting point of the resin component having highest melting point included in the resin material and be equal to or higher than the melting point of the resin component having lowest melting point included in the resin material.
