To provide a rare earth magnet which has excellent magnetic and thermal stability characteristics without using Tb, Dy or Ho as an expensive scarce metal.
A method of manufacturing an alloy thin strip for a rare earth magnet includes a step of supplying a melted alloy containing praseodymium (Pr), neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe), cobalt (Co), niobium (Nb), yttrium (Y), and boron (B) to a rotating roll to obtain a quenched thin strip; a crystallizing step of thermally treating the quenched thin strip at a temperature increasing rate of 150-250°C/min to crystallize the quenched thin strip. By executing the strip manufacturing method, an alloy thin strip for a rare earth magnet which contains praseodymium (Pr), neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe), cobalt (Co), niobium (Nb), yttrium (Y), and boron (B) and which is crystallized by quenching, is obtained.
